Teramount Joins Forces with GlobalFoundries in Strategic Partnership to Drive New Silicon Photonic Solutions

Grove Ventures’ portfolio company Teramount has successfully secured a strategic partnership with GlobalFoundries, one of the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturers with a global footprint.

As part of this collaboration, Teramount will integrate its Universal Photonic Coupler solution with GoblalFoundries’ 45CLO silicon photonics platform, GF FotonixTM, to provide a scalable fiber packaging solution to customers who want to utilize high-speed optical connectivity for applications like AI/ML and data center.

Looking at the broader picture, with Teramount’s expertise and unique solutions in semiconductor manufacturing processes, this partnership will enable deeper integration of optics into Silicon Photonics (SiPh) chips, through various packaging technologies that provide bandwidth, power, and latency performance scalability to the next generations of advanced computing applications.
