CommonGround raises $19M to rethink online communication
CommonGround, a startup focused on developing “4D collaboration” technology, has raised $19 million in funding. Founded by Amir Bassan-Eskenazi and Ran Oz, who previously launched successful startups together, CommonGround aims to revolutionize online communication by capturing the nuances of in-person interactions. The founders envision software that goes beyond video conferencing, incorporating technologies like computer vision and graphics to enhance collaboration. The funding round was led by Matrix Partners, with participation from Grove Ventures, a prominent Tel Aviv-based early-stage venture capital firm, and StageOne Ventures, and the company plans to fully unveil its first product in the coming year.
